Update: It has been announced the bus has been returned. More to follow!

A BUS used to support young carers in Thurrock and further afield has been stolen.

The heavily-branded charity vehicle, which is used by the Thurrock Young Carers Hub and the Barking and Dagenham Carers Hub was stolen from outside the carers centre in Memory Lane, Dagenham.

It is used to transport dementia patients as well as for young carers' respite activities.

The theft has been reported to police and anyone who sees the bus, or knows of its whereabouts is asked to contact them.

A spokesperson for the two hubs said: "If you are out and about and spot it please call 999 and report to the police immediately.

"Our minibus is much-needed. We have done lots of fundraising over the years to enable us to have the minibus. Please look out for it, thank you."

Thurrock Young Carers support young people between the ages of eight and 18 who care for a family member, living in Thurrock.
