A FORMER and much loved headmaster of Corringham Primary School has recently died prompting a tribute from a former pupil.

Mike Colvert had been living in France in his retirement. He had been ill for some time and his death is not Covid-related.

Former pupil Clive Dawes told Thurrock Nub news: "He inspired many pupils, was funny, gentle, protective and caring. He made going to school a pleasure rather than a dread.

"He will sadly be missed by so many he influenced. Mr Colvert was the very best, a great man."
