CO-OP colleagues working at a Thurrock distribution centre have been celebrating the success of a member of their team.

David Lane is the Transport Nightshift manager at West Thurrock Co-op distribution centre and he was recognised recently at the Inside Out Awards.

The awards celebrate organisations and individuals across industries, showcasing leadership, innovation, and best practice in focusing on the mental health agenda at work.

David was nominated for a Wellbeing Leader Award for his fantastic work as a mental health first aider and advocate.

A Co-op spokesperson said: "David came second (Highly Commended) out of nine representatives from different European Companies which was fantastic and we are all immensely proud of him and the phenomenal work he does for our colleagues and their mental health.

"The Co-op Distribution Centre on Oliver Road prides itself on the work that they do for its colleagues' mental health and they have a team of nine Mental Health First Aiders who are readily available for colleagues to talk to and to signpost them to appropriate help and David is a pivotal member of the team, who often goes above and beyond to ensure that the colleagues' mental health needs are met."
