PROJECT MANAGER, THURROCK LGBTQ+ NETWORK
Salary: c.£20K, dependent on experience (£40K full-time equivalent)
Hours: 20 hours per week (worked flexibly across the week, including occasional evenings and weekends)
Contract: 18 months fixed-term, with possibility of extension
Location: Thurrock, Essex (hybrid – community locations, and remote working)

Thurrock LGBTQ+ Network is looking for its first Project Manager to lead an exciting new phase of growth. This is a unique opportunity to shape and deliver a community-led programme that supports LGBTQ+ people, reduces isolation, and builds long-term resilience across Thurrock.
In this role you will lead and coordinate a multi-strand programme, including monthly socials and Café Pride sessions, the annual Thurrock Pride event, Youth Arts Project, the Community Ambassador programme and monthly communications and outreach. The main responsibilities will include delivering high-quality, inclusive community programmes; managing plans, timelines, budgets, and reporting; supporting and coordinating volunteers and ambassadors; building partnerships with local organisations and stakeholders; monitoring impact and reporting to trustees and funders; and ensuring safeguarding and compliance standards are met.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of the following:
- Knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues and communities
- Experience delivering events or community programmes
- Experience in project management or programme coordination
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Experience managing budgets and reporting
- Experience of working with volunteers and community stakeholders
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of monitoring and evaluation methods
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Experience of managing own time and working flexibly
