The role of Truck Technician Responsibilities and Duties Diagnose, repair, and maintain Heavy Goods Vehicles to the highest standards of quality and safety. Perform inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs on various truck models. Use your technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues. Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional service delivery. Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts used, maintaining thorough documentation. Qualifications: Proven experience as an Technician with a strong track record of maintenance and repair work. Relevant technical certifications and qualifications in HGV mechanics. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Location: Thurrock Truck Hours & Salary: Week 1: 1:00pm until 10:30pmWeek 2: 6.00am until 03:30pmSalary: Up to £23.50 per hour + shift allowance on lates. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled HGV TECHNICIAN/ FITTER to join our expanding team in our brand new workshop.This position is for an experienced Fitter ready to bring their skills and experience to the business - this is NOT a position for an unexperienced new starter unfortunately.Ideal candidate must have relevant qualifications and be able to provide certificates, full driving licence and must have some experience working on 8 wheeled tippers.Class 1/2 HGV licence not essential but would be desirable.This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with precision in a fast-paced environment. The Technician/ Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all products meet company standards. Responsibilities Carry out all mechanical work to HGV Tipper lorry's (Scania, Volvo fleet) ensuring they are road worthy and fit for purpose Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently. Conduct inspections and break testing to ensure they meet standards. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations. Communicate with team members to improve processes and resolve any issues that arise during production. Skills Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for fabrication and assembly tasks. Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations. Solid mechanical knowledge, enabling effective troubleshooting of equipment issues.
