THE Essex Air Ambulance landed in Grays at Kilverts Field this morning at around 11am to help deal with a patinet who had suffered a cardiac arrest.

Medics from the helicopter rushed to help road ambulance crews and police dealing with the incident on Seabrooke Rise. The incident was unconnected with the explosion at the nearby Port of Tilbury.

As medics worked on a patient police kept a cordon around the site.

Overhead the Essex Police helicopter was hovering, believed to be monitoring the incident at the port, while on the ground another team of local community police officers were patrolling the area on a scheduled 'sweep' dealing with anti-social behaviour.

A statement from the East of England Ambulance Service says: "Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and an Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended a cardiac arrest on Seabrooke Rise in Grays shortly before 10am this morning (Friday 3 July). The patient was transported to Basildon & Thurrock Hospital."
