A MOTORBOKE rider required hospital treatment after the latest crash at the troubled junction of Bradleigh Aveneue with Lodge Lane in Grays.

In recent days Thurrock Nub News has focused on the frequency of accidents at the junction and the concerns of local residents who believe the junction is badly configured

That has prompted Thurrock Council to say the problem lies predominately with speeding motorists and that it plans to introduce an average speed camera system along the whole of Lodge Lane to combat the problem - despite the fact there is already an existing speed camera within less than 50 yards of the junction.

Residents continue to insist that it is largely the configuration of the junction and the way motorists have to edge out into the road to manoeuvre to try, dangerously in certain directions, to cross an oncoming lane.

Last night, at around 8pm there a two vehicle collision involving the motorcyclist and a car.

The bike rider was taken to hospital with serious but non-life changing or life threatening injuries.

Police advise that no driving offences have been reported which suggests speed would not be an issue in this particular crash.
