Gable Hall students in year eight sent home after pupil tests positive for Covid-19

ALL year eight pupils at Gable Hall School in Corringham have been sent home after a student was confirmed as having tested positive for Covid-19.

A spokesman for Gable Hall said: "We can confirm a year 8 pupil has tested positive for Covid-19.

"On the advice of Public Health England that pupil has been sent home to self-isolate in line with current guidelines. We have also taken the steps to send all year 8 pupils home.

"Parents can rest assured we are following the national advice and guidelines. We were prepared for a possible case of coronavirus and are following national advice.

"Any parents with concerns can contact the school in the usual manner.

"And in line with national guidelines we advise the parents any pupil who is showing symptoms to self-isolate at home for at least ten days."
