THE management team of hospitals that serve the mid and south Essex region has responded today to play down concerns raised on a number of social media sites that oxygen supplies are running short because of the pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a bid to stop rumours the Mid and South NHS Foundation Trust responded to a question from Thurrock Nub News today (Wednesday, 6 January) to say: "We are not running low or out of our oxygen supply."

The concern had centred on the increased demand for oxygen for the treatment of patients suffering from Covid-19 who might be put on ventilators or other breathing-assisted treatments.
