Rainbow tribute to the carers

By Neil Speight 3rd Apr 2020

THE chairman of a Thurrock community hall is hoping to produce a wall of colour as a tribute to the NHS workers.

In the wake of last night's hugely successful second #Clapforourcarers event which saw thousands of Thurrock residents and businesses mark 8pm with a burst of applause and tributes to the NHS and other carers, Gary Byrne, chairman of Homesteads Village Hall in Stanford-le-Hope is calling on local youngsters to produce rainbow artwork to be pinned out side it.

The tribute, on a fence on Dunstable Road has been started by two rainbows from Paige and Poppy Stock and Gary, who is also an independent Thurrock councillor, is hoping more will be placed there.

"Please pin a drawing to our fence when you are out for your family walk," he says.
