A BOROUGH store will be launching a collection point tomorrow (Monday, 16 August) where donations of items that will help victims of domestic abuse will be taken in.

Staff at the Co-Op store on Socketts Heath, Grays, have been working with the family of murdered backpacker Grace Millane who was killed while travelling in New Zealand in December 2018.

Her family have many Thurrock connections and her grandad, the late Chadwell St Mary councillor Martin Millane, was a former mayor of the borough.

In Grace's memory her family and friends founded the 'Love Grace' appeal.

It collects and then distributes handbags filled with essential items. The bags are delivered with a tag which says "Love Grace x" in Grace's handwriting and a flower that she drew, on one side.

Tomorrow at 10.30am staff at the store will be launching a collection unit for the appeal and they will be taking in items including handbags, toiletries, wipes, soaps, make-up and perfumes.

You can find out more about the 'Love Grace' appeal via this link.
