ONE of the centrepieces of social life and entertainment in Thurrock is the Orsett Hall Hotel.

Over the decades many people have visted the historic venue, though sadly the original 300-year-old main building was destroyed by fire in May 2007.

The 18th century hall was lost in 2007 but its gardens remain and are treasured.

It was replaced with modern, purpose built facilites but they share one thing with the mid 18th Century original, they sit in a parkland estate.

Looking after that estate is gardener Tracy Smith, who was delighted to share what has become her life's passion with Nub News readers and viewers on our tour of those grounds.
