The Cast of Clue on Stage

Thurrock Courts Players return to the Thameside Theatre this June with the hilarious, mad-cap comedy Clue on Stage.

Based on the 1984 Paramount movie Clue, which starred Tim Curry as Wadsworth the Butler, which is in turn based on the Hasbro boardgame Cluedo (or Clue in the USA), this stage adaptation brings the cult classic comedy to life with all the familiar twists and turns of the original film.

Join the infamous Cluedo characters Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Mrs White and Mr Green as they are invited to Boddy Manor under mysterious circumstances. Once they discover the real reason behind their invitation, the body count starts to stack up and everyone has something to hide. Guided by Wadsworth the butler, played in this production by Thurrock's resident pantomime dame Luke Coldham, the play hurtles along at breakneck speed to it's inevitable conclusion(s).

Director Victoria Grayling told us: 'I am beyond excited to be bringing this show to the Thameside stage. Having grown up watching the film, and being a massive Tim Curry fan in general, I have tried to keep it as close to the original as possible. Eagle-eyed fans who know the film as well as I do will notice certain subtle changes in the script adaptation due to limitations of the stage, but are still in for a wild ride with sharp dialogue and a killer twist.'

Regular followers of Thurrock Courts Players will be aware of the quality of performance they are known for putting on.

A company of fantastic amateur performers with a knack for imitation have been commended over the years for their mimicking of The Vicar of Dibley, Blackadder and most recently The Queen and Her Prime Ministers in The Audience, which is nominated for NODAs prestigious Best Play Award to be announced in April 2023.

Clue runs for three performances only on Friday 9th June at 8pm and Saturday 10th June at 5pm and 8pm. Tickets are a very reasonable £15 each and a available from CLUE ON STAGE (thamesidetheatre.com) or by calling the Box Office on 0345 300 5264
