THE trial of two men who brought the QEII bridge to a standstill for several days last year by climbing its support cables has gone into a second week.

Two Just Stop Oil supporters who climbed the bridge last October are on trial at Basildon Crown Court charged with public nuisance.

Marcus Decker and Morgan Trowland have already spent more than 160 days in prison on remand for climbing the QEII bridge to demand that the government halt licensing and consents for the development of any new fossil-fuel projects in the UK.

The trial is expected to resume on Monday.
