Heritage day hailed another success as Bata memories continue to draw visitors to historic borough site.

BATA Heritage Centre had a very successful Open Day on Saturday, 25 April when more than 90 participants enjoyed the popular guided walks.

The event also featured a visit by members of the Epping Ongar Railway group who brought along one of their heritage double decker buses which offered rides around the former Bata housing estate.

The next Open Day will be on Saturday 10 October, and details can be found on website (Bata Heritage Centre – The life and times of the British Bata Shoe Co Ltd).

The Bata Heritage Centre recently collaborated with the Czech Centre in London over an exhibition to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Tomas Bata the founder of Bata Shoes worldwide and to recognise his entrepreneurship.

The free exhibition continues until 12 June at the Vitrínka Gallery which is near Notting Hill Gate underground station.
