BELHUS and Ockendon Community Forum held an afternoon tea on Saturday, 4 June for the local community at South Ockendon Social Club.

It was a free event funded by Thurrock Council, Small Sparks Funding and South Essex Insurance Brokers.

One hundred invitations were given to many people on their own and all 100 attended to a fantastic afternoon of cream teas and entertainment.

Borough Mayor Cllr James Halden attended and enjoyed a few hours of local organisations providing the entertainment.

A forum spokesperson said: "A big thank you to all volunteers and the Village club who without them this event would not have happened."
