VOLUNTEERS and guests of the Thurrock Re-engage charity came together to celebrate the 100th birthday of a borough woman.

The event took place at Headon Hall, scene or regular afternoon tea and other events organised by the charity that supports lonely and vulnerable people across the borough.

Its organiser, Maggie, said: "We enjoyed a lovely a party to celebrate Marjorie's 100th birthday with lots of fun and laughter and a fabulous birthday cake.

"We also had another birthday to celebrate as it was Rita's birthday in March.

"Thank you to our volunteer drivers for getting our guests to Headon Hall and your help during the afternoon.

"A special thank you to Laura , Clarissa and Loraine for your help to decorate the hall."

Regional organiser Loraine Coleman added: "It was such a lovely afternoon celebrating Marjorie's 100th birthday.

"Special memories made sharing this very special occasion. The birthday cake was amazing and delicious. Happy birthday to Rita too. Thank you so much to Maggie for organising and preparing all the delicious tea party food. Lovely happy photos of an afternoon to remember and treasure."
