15-year-old arrested in connection with range of offences

POLICE in Thurrock have given details of an incident in Tilbury last week when a 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a number of offences, including possession of a knife or bladed article and handling stolen goods. He also committed a number of driving offences.
A statement by police says: "On Wednesday 30 April, officers from our local policing team responded swiftly to an incident on Calcutta Road, Tilbury, involving a man reportedly in possession of a knife.
"Thanks to the vigilance and teamwork of officers, a 15-year-old boy who had initially made off from police was safely located, detained, and arrested. A stolen motorbike was also located and recovered.
"He was arrested on suspicion of:
- Affray
- Possession of a knife / bladed article
- Handling stolen goods
- Driving without a licence
- Driving without insurance
"The suspect has been released under investigation so we can continue to conduct further enquiries and gather evidence.
"This is a great example of proactive policing and community safety in action.
"We remain committed to tackling knife crime and keeping our streets safe."
