16-year-old boy stabbed in early hours incident - Police seeking more information after another teenager is arrested

POLICE are investigating an incident in East Tilbury in which a 16-year-old boys is reported to have been stabbed.

Officers were called shortly before 1.35am today (Monday 13 July), after being alerted that a teenager had been stabbed in Queen Mary Avenue, East Tilbury.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a head injury, which was not believed to be life threatening or life changing.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in custody for questioning.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances behind this incident and anyone with information is asked to call Grays CID on 101 quoting reference 42/103406/20.
