THURROCK Council is set to introduce a number of 20 mph speed restriction zone across a newly developed Aveley, which will come into force next month.

The council is currently completing the legal formalities, including public consultation, on the scheme.

If implemented in full, with effect from 13 January 2020, the following roads - mostly on the new housing development alongside the Aveley bypass - will all have a 20 mph maximum speed:

Barrett Way, Belhouse Avenue, Belhus View, Bredle way, Brinson Way, Bumpstead Mead, Courts Way, Marshfoot Close, Meadow Drive and Tany Mead.

Public notices relating to the changes and an opportunity for residents to object can be found at the council's website at www.thurrock.gov.uk/publicnotices
