POLICE officers will be taking up station in Grays High Street on Thursday (17 March) in an exercise arranged for local people to meet with them and discuss issues.

It is part of an ongoing exercise to raise the profile of police on the borough's streets, which has seen a number of social media posts of officers on patrol in recent days.

And as part of the raised profile, officers will also be in Stanford-le-Hope tomorrow (Wednesday, 16 March) where they will take part inf a 'Coffee with Cops' event at the town's library from 10.30 to 11.30am.

Thursday's event in Grays, where officers will be on the plaza outside South Essex College at the top of the High Street, has been organised by the Safer Streets Partnership.

A statement from the partnership says the 'pop up' event, which runs from noon to 4pm, offers and opportunity to 'come along and chat with officers from Thurrock Community Policing Team and Thurrock Community Safety Partnership members about any concerns you may have and ask questions. Everyone is welcome'.
