A THROWBACK in time been created at the offices of a borough-based radio station.

Thames Delta Radio in Grays has built an authentic record shop specialising in Rave Vinyl and Jungle Drum and Bass Music.

During the 90s during the rave music phenomenon that literally changed the world of music, there was a record shop like this in every borough up and down the UK.

Nearly all closed down when the digital media age took hold of the population.

They were somewhere to meet, a place to connect and buy records, including the latest anthem or under the counter promo that nobody else had.

Thames Delta Radio has decided to create an environment for people to experience what a mythical authentic dance music record shop was like. Appointments can be made to visit the shop and the station will also be doing online radio broadcasts from the shop.

Dorion Quest, managing director at Thames Delta Radio said: "It's an echo from a not too distance past that holds a special place in so many, those generations who all remember where they bought there first record, how old they where and what the record was.

"It was these experiences that shaped and built the UK's music industry and is still the foundation of how things are done today."
