THURROCK has welcomed two new Special Constables after they received their warrant cards this week.

Daniel Ringrow, 29, from Tilbury, and Nathan Miles, 21, from Grays began their duties after an attestation ceremony on Monday, 15 June.

Daniel works as a manager at SpecSavers and Nathan works as an overhead linesman for Network Rail.

Daniel, who is a first Dan in jujitsu, said: "I'm bringing new skills back into the workplace and my manager is very supportive of my volunteering as a Special Constable.

"I'm looking to get out into my community and I've been working really hard to secure my warrant card.

"I've made lots of friends for life and my family has been really supportive."

Keen fisherman, Nathan, said: "I wanted to use my days off productively, so I signed up to become a Special Constable.

"I'm really looking forward to working with officers by responding to 999 calls and helping people."

Daniel and Nathan received their warrant cards along with seven other Special Constables, who will be based in other towns in the county.

If you would like to learn new skills, gain more confidence and help your local community, Essex Police invite you to apply to become a Special Constable. Check this link to find out more.
