A13 closed westbound for two more nights as council apologises (twice) for inconvenience and noise

AS one diversion came to an end this morning, workers on the A13 widening project in Thurrock are getting ready for another this evening (Monday, 29 March).

The weekend saw the whole of the eastbound carriageway between the Orsett Cock roundabout and the Manorway at Stanford-le-Hope closed and for the next two nights the same section will be closed westbound from 9pm to 5am.

The work may lead to some noise than usual coming from the roadworks and Thurrock Council has apologised in advance to residents for the inconvenience. In fact the apology was so heartfelt, in some areas the council made it twice, first delivering hand a message printed on A3 sized paper - then returning to deliver a second version, scaled down to A4. It seems it's not just roadworks themselves that turn out bigger than expected.
