FORT the second successive weekend motorists and residents in Thurrock have been reminded that there will be disruption on the A13 and a change to the traffic management in relation to access to the civic household waste and recycling centre at Linford.

A section of the A13 beneath the Orsett Cock roundabout will be closed from 9pm on Friday, 5 June until 5am on Monday, 8 June and traffic will be diverted via the exit and entry slip roads.

The temporary one-way system affording access to the Linford tip via Buckingham Hill Road, Butts Lane and Waltons Hall Road will not be in place during these times. During the closure, access to and out of the tip is through Buckingham Hill Road at the Linford end only. The one way system will be reinstated at 7.30am on Monday.

Buckingham Hill Road will be closed, with access for tip users and businesses within Buckingham Hill Road being available from the southern (Linford) side. Orsett Road, Horndon will also be closed between High Road and Victoria Road, with a temporary one way system in place in Gordon Road and Victoria Road in Horndon during the A13 closures.

Visitors must access the tip from the Linford end of Buckingham Hill Road, and then also exit towards Linford. Traffic will be able to travel both ways along Butts Lane and Waltons Hall Road.

On Monday at 7:30am the one way system around the HWRC will be reinstated meaning traffic will only be able to travel northbound on Buckingham Hill Road – from Linford towards Stanford Road – and southbound on Butts Lane and Waltons Hall Road. This will be in place between 7:30am and 5:30pm everyday there are not works on the A13. The the tip is open from 8am – 5pm daily.
