A SERIOUS crash involving several vehicles has blocked Marshfoot Road between Chadwell St Mary and Little Thuurock.

It happened around 5.30pm on the junction with Marshfoot Road and the slip road from the A1089 Dock Approach Road.

Multiple police, ambulance and fire service vehicles are in attendance, with fire crews having to using cutting equipment on at least one car.

The junction is a notorious spot for accidents but its dangers have repeatedly been played down by Thurrock Council, even though police have advised safety changes need to be made.

Further updates to follow.
