ANOTHER event organised by the Thurrock branch of the Re-engage charity, which brings friendship and companionship to lonely older people in the borough, was attended and enjoyed by guests who left with smiling, happy faces.

The afternoon tea took place at the Grays town centre Morrisons store, where community champion Tarnya Bennett and staff members welcomed volunteers and local residents.

Re-engage regional co-ordinator Loraine Coleman said: "A fabulous afternoon tea at Morrisons in Grays enjoyed by all. A very special thank you to Tarnya for organising this for us and especially for our very entertaining bingo. Thank you also to volunteers Clarissa, Ira and Paula for driving our guests and our local organiser Maggie.

"This was so lovely and there were so many such happy smiley faces and delicious food. And a game of bingo!  How fabulous. What a wonderful afternoon. Thank you so so much Tarnya  and Morrisons for being so generous and kind. Thank you Maggie for organising this very special afternoon for our Re-engage guests."
