RESIDENTS have reported yet another physical confrontation with a lorry driver after a n incident in the middle of the night when a HGV attempted to make a turn on a residential road.

The longstanding problems of large lorries on Wharf Road in Stanford-le-Hope are now well documented with a saga of anger, frustration and continued law-breaking going on for many years. The police have been involved following one recent clash.

The latest incident happened just after 2am this morning, when a large articulated lorry - which should not be using the road as there is a lorry ban on set hours, attempted to turn around.

The noise of reversing lights, flashing lights and the lorry hitting a fence woke residents, one of whom became involved in a physical confrontation with the driver.

A neighbour told Nub News: "The HGV has caused damage to fencing, woke up the street. people went outside to see what was going on and the driver became confrontational with a resident.

"This is the third time a lorry driver has been physically or verbally abused by a lorry driver recently."
