Another power outage in Corringham

ENGINEERS from UK Power Networks are working to repair equipment that has led to the second power cut in a week in Corringham.
Today's (Friday, 30 May) incident is in the Lyndhurst Road area linked to the same issue from last Saturday's outage.
A statement from UKPN says: "We became aware of the fault at 07:15am. The cause is a faulty piece of equipment at the local substation in the Lyndhurst Road area.
"The current status is that our engineers are on site and have now confirmed that our substation equipment has failed due to an underground cable fault which we'll need to pinpoint, excavate and repair.

"We're sending specialist teams and equipment to site, and it's possible they will still be able to restore your power within the current time frame using other methods.
"The estimated timeframe to have power back on is 10:30 to 11:30am."
That was later updated when UKPN messaged residents saying: "Our team of specialist engineers are now on their way to the Lyndhurst Road area. Based on what we know about the issue so far, and to allow them time to arrive and make repairs, we've changed the estimated time to between 1 and 2pm.
"We're sorry for the delay."
UK Power Networks have also warned of possible outages in Stanford-le-Hope later today in connection to planned work taking place at Mucking.
