SHOPPERS were turned away from tills and ASDA's store in Tilbury was temporarily closed this morning becasue of technical issues with tills.

The problem was reporters nationwide across a number of retailers, with ASDA and Morrisons among those worst hit. It's been reported the Greggs chain of bakeries and takeaways was also affected.

A statement from ASDA says: "Some of our stores opened later than planned this morning due to a technical issue affecting checkouts. This has now been resolved and we apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."
