Maureen Pearson was supported by fellow Tory councillor Colin Churchman

FORMER borough mayor Maureen Pearce made a return to political life, retaining the Aveley & Uplands seat for the Conservatives with a big majority.

Cllr Pearce was mayor in 2009-10.
