WARD councillors and residents say they will continue to oppose a controversial planning application in Grays.

As reported on Thurock NubNews last week (click on red button below for story) Thurrock Council officers are recommending approval for the eight home development on on land adjacent to Curling Lane, Helleborine and Meesons Lane in Grays.

However, the fight will go on at this week's (Thursday, 13 February) planning committee meeting.

Ward Cllr Tony Fish will be speaking at the meeting and he says: " Myself and fellow ward councillors Martin Kerin and Jane Pothecary support our residents - they know that this application is terrible for the residents of Badgers Dene and Meesons Lane.

"The design would blight the area, and pile pressure on already stretched infrastructure and services.

"We urge the Planning Committee to chuck this scheme out."

Cllr Fish will be joined in opposing the scheme by Joyce Taylor, who will speak on behalf of herself and neighbours in the area.
