ANOTHER longstanding Thurrock Conservative councillor maintained his position in the chamber as Ben Maney emerged a comfortable winner in Little Thurrock Blackshots.

Cllr Maney, who was first elected in 2004, starts his latest term of office after a victory against Labour's perennial roving candidate Cliff Holloway.

Result: 

  • Ben Maney (Conservative) 906
  • Clifford Holloway (Labour) 571

Majority 335

Electorate: 5,118. Ballot Papers Issued: 1,488. Turnout: 29.07%.
