AN application has been submitted to add two more flats to a controversial planning project granted permission in the green belt near Tilbury.

The application for the demolition of an existing dwelling and construction of 36 apartments at 16 Melbourne Road, Tilbury, by Montana Developments was approved by Thurrock Council in April 2021.

The scheme was first brought forward in 2020 and though there were reservations about it, and objections from local residents, the scheme was never called before councillors and granted permission by officers.

Now a submission has been made to change of use of a ground floor storage and plant room to two additional flats on the site. The new application - and the opportunity to comment can be found via this link.
