AN application has been submitted to Thurrock Council to turn a car sales plot and showroom into a new café.

The submission relates to the site of Arrow Cars at 70 London Road, Grays.

In the application, which can be viewed in full via this link, the applicants say: "It is thought that the café will positively contribute to the local area; broadening the range of services and functionality and help protect and promote employment zones for a range of small and medium business activities in the area."

It is planned that the premises will be open seven days a week from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and from 11am to 4pm on Sundays.

The café will employ four full-time and two part-time staff.
