A BODY was recovered from the Thames riverside, close to Thurrock Yacht Club in Grays, this morning (Saturday, 21 February) after being spotted by a passer-by.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called at around 9.25am following the discovery.

"The body was found by a member of the public on the shoreline near Thames Road.

"Enquiries are now underway."
