Boy injured after collision with bus close to busy junction

A TEENAGE boy was injured and taken to hospital following a collision with a bus close to the junction of Lodge Lane and Southend Road in Grays yesterday (Tuesday, 28 November).

The incident drew a substantial response from emergency services and the road was closed while the casualty was dealt with, and an investigation took place.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called just before 3pm on Tuesday with reports of a road traffic collision in Grays involving a pedestrian and a bus.

"An ambulance, an ambulance officer vehicle and a response car from the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Service were sent to the scene.

"A teenage male was transported to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further assessment and care."

The boy's injuries have been described as 'minor'.

There has been no further police action.
