A young boy is reovering after receiving treatment after falling from his cycle on a busy road soon after leaving school.

The incident happened yesterday in Stanford-le-Hope, close to the town's rail station. The victim was in collision with a bike ridden by another young person who feld the scene.

A statement from the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 3.29pm on Tuesday, 27 June with reports that a boy had fallen from his bike on the junction of London Road and Victoria Road.

"An ambulance was sent to the scene and transported the patient to Basildon & Thurrock Hospital."
