THURROCk Council has announced a new home for the Brighter Futures Family Hub, bringing a range of family-focused services to East Tilbury Library starting from Thursday, 2 October.

This move ensures that Family Hub services continue to support local families following the relocation from East Tilbury Village Hall.

The new venue offers a welcoming and accessible space for families to engage with a variety of activities and support services.

What's on offer:

  • Baby Massage – a course to help parents bond with their babies, improve their well-being, and learn techniques for relaxation
  • Bookstart and Storytime Sessions – encouraging your child to develop a passion for reading by bringing stories to life
  • Health Support – including baby weighing and infant feeding advice, delivered by health partners on the first Thursday of every month

These sessions will be held weekly, every Thursday, with support of experienced Family Hub Facilitators.

Families are encouraged to come along, register with the Family Hub, and join the library to make the most of this exciting new offering.

Cllr Vikki Hartstean, cabinet member for children's services, education and community safety, said: "I am thrilled that our Family Hub team can continue to offer these valuable services in the heart of our community. As a community hub, the library is a natural home for family learning and support."

Portfolio holder for sustainability, art, culture and heritage, Cllr John Kent, said: "This partnership is a positive step forward that brings about greater connection between two vital council services and helps to ensure we can continue to provide support for families in East Tilbury.

"Our libraries run some fantastic initiatives from social groups and clubs, to access to free Wi-Fi and digital devices. If you haven't already, go and visit your local library or take a look at our libraries webpage to find out the array of fantastic things they have to offer."
