A VILLAGE butcher's has announced it is still open for business and has widened its local delivery service.

York's Butchers in east Tilbury says: "Further to the announcement from the Prime Minster we are and will be open as we are a food shop. However as he advised everyone to remain at home we have decided to offer free delivery to all residents of Linford, East Tilbury, West Tilbury and Chadwell,the minimum spend will be £20 for these areas.

"For our customers in Grays and Chafford Hundred the minimum order will also be £20. Please order by calling 01375673063 so that we can give you the latest stock update. We will be delivering in the afternoons so will be closing the shop a few hours earlier. As well as meat we can deliver eggs, ham and our famous pies, pasties and sausage rolls. Payment must be by card over the phone.

"If you decide to visit the shop and there are two people waiting, please stand outside the shop until one person leaves.

"If you know of any elderly people who are not on social media than please tell them about us. Stay safe everyone.

"Many people asking about Tilbury, yes we can deliver there too, order needs to be £20 or more."
