LABOUR councillors for Grays Riverside and Grays Thurrock wards have announced they are to restart their regular advice surgeries, on the first Saturday of each month, starting on Saturday, 2 October.

Surgeries will be held in the cafe at Morrison's store from 10am to 12noon.

Lynn Worrall, Labour councillor for Grays Thurrock, said: "Covid has meant we haven't been able to hold our regular advice surgeries, we have still been there to help residents - on the phone, by email or social media - but it's not the same!

"Traditionally, Labour councillors in Grays have held our surgeries on the first Saturday of the month at the Thameside.

"Unfortunately, as the council has closed the cafe and the future of the building is uncertain that isn't an option for us.

"We are really grateful to Morrison's for allowing us to hold our surgeries in their cafe. We look forward to meeting residents there - so come and see us over a cup of tea!"
