Café offers free and welcoming Christmas Day treat for elderly, lonely or vulnarable
A CAFÉ in Corringham will be opening up on Christmas Day to offer a festive welcome to lonely, elderly or vulnerable local residents who might otherwise spend the day alone.
Louise Watkins, a partner in Mama's Cabin on St John's Way, will be joined on the big day by colleagues to offer a free Christmas Dinner.
Louise says: "I hope we will be able to raise the spirits and help anyone who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day alone.
"We will have a traditional Christmas Dinner for them and, thanks to the generosity and support of the local community, there will be entertainment and gifts.
"If you are alone or know of someone who will be alone on Christmas Day, please contact us on 07301 898973.
"It would be helpful if people can let us know so we can cater and accommodate everybody but we won't be turning people away if they just turn up on the day.
"I'm really grateful to everyone who has offered their support so far, either by helping or making a donation.
"I am really looking forward to a memorable day."
