Call for council to act over inconsiderate and dangerous parkers

By Neil Speight 31st Jan 2021

RESIDENTS on a Grays road have spoken about their continuing anger and frustration over sustained parking problems.

Dukes Avenue has become the centre of a wrangle between many of its residents who are upset by inconsiderate parkers and Thurrock Council who, it is claimed, have ignored the problem despite many complaints.

This evening (Sunday, 31 January) residents contacted Thurrock Nub News to say they want the council to intervene and impose restrictions that will ease congestion.

"I have been fighting on this issue for eight months," said one resident. "Time and time again I have not been able to get out of my home because, even though there is signage asking people to keep areas clear, they still park inconsiderately.

"It's not just a number of residents who are upset, the fire service have visited the road and they have left notices on the cars that are badly parked because they could stop emergency vehicles getting through.

"It's been raised time and time again with the council but they won't do anything about it."

Thurrock Council have been contacted as asked to comment.
