Car smashes into charity shop

THE frontage of a charity shop is boarded up today (Sunday, 23 November) after a car rammed it last night.

It happened around 8.20pm when the Havens charity shop on King Street, Stanford-le-Hope was hit by a car which then drove off.

It is believed to have been abandoned on nearby Victoria Road.

The vehicle believed to have been involved.

Police attended the incident and have issued the following statement: "We are investigating a single-vehicle collision which has left a shop damaged in Stanford-le-Hope.

"We were called with reports of the collision in King Street at about 8.20pm on Saturday 22 November.

"The vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene. Our enquiries are ongoing. If you have any information about this incident, please contact us quoting incident 1080 of Saturday, 22 November."
