Carers come together for celebration

By Neil Speight 22nd Dec 2019

IN a change of roles, carers in Thurrock found themselves on the receiving end of generosity on Wednesday (19 December) when they were guests at a party that went with a real swing.

Thurrock Carers Service invited all carers in the borough to the bash at Crown House in Grays, which included an Christmas afternoon tea this week.

They enjoyed a buffet with mince pies donated from Iceland in Grays.

Crooner Andrew Panrucker, a Grays-based singer and entertainer known locally as 'Andy Sings Swing' gave his time for free and entertained participants for the afternoon with Christmas songs.

Thurrock Carers manager Fleur Jones-Mannix' said: "It's nice for us to be able to do something for the carers, and they can get some time out for themselves. It was the first time we've done this, and it was a great success, were looking forward to the next one.

"If you are, or know someone that's a carer that may need some support or advice, please give us a call at Thurrock Mind on 01375 659172."
