STAFF at Tesco's West Thurrock superstore have been reflecting on a giving run-up to the Christmas season, which saw them supporting vulnerable people across the borough.
The store's longstanding and popular community champion Angela Mitchell told Thurrock Nub news: "Customers and staff at Lakeside Tesco were incredibly busy helping to ensure children across the borough had a wonderful Christmas
"There were three generous donations from the store collection, which will be going to the Community Clothing Gateway Centre.
"In addition, our fantastic delivery drivers have donated toys for the second year running. A full cage of toys was delivered to East Tilbury School, helping to support children in vulnerable areas.
"A huge thank you to everyone involved for your kindness, generosity, and continued support in making a real difference this Christmas."
Chelsey Shovlar has recently joined Angela as a Community Champion for Tesco and organised the Giving Tree, which has been a huge success. Both customers and colleagues donated a wonderful selection of gifts. She is pictured above with gifts which were collected and received at Chadwell St Mary's Herringham School by pupils and staff.
