THE charity Re-engage Thurrock was presented with a donation of £500 by the Rotary Club of the Mar Dyke Valley at their recent presentation evening.

A cheque was presented to the charity's volunteer group co-ordinator Ros by the Rotary Club's president, Paul Luke and Rotarian Alan Curtis.

Regional Re-engage co-ordinator Lorainne Coleman says: "ReEngage volunteers spent a wonderful festive evening in December on the Santa Sleigh Run collecting donations from our very generous Thurrock residents.

"As a result ReEngage Thurrock were one of the very lucky beneficiaries.

"Thank you so so much for your generosity. This fabulous donation will go such a long way to reducing isolation and loneliness with our elderly Thurrock residents where we can further enrich their lives with tea parties and special treats."
