Charity was right on track as it raced away on a fundraising evening

THURROCK Re-engage held its charity race night recently, bringing the excitement of the races to Ockendon Social Club.

The event exceeded all expectations and raised £725.

The charity's regional co-ordinator Loraine Coleman said: "Everyone entered into the spirit of the evening and we all had an exciting night of entertainment with the chance of winning money.

"Such wonderful fun and so much laughter.

"The biggest Thank you to our lovely volunteer Paula who tirelessly organised everything perfectly, managing all the race administration inculuding great prizes.

"A big thank you to our lovely volunteer Laura who supported Paula on the night to make the evening such a success , thank you both for your wonderful support.

"And huge thanks to everyone to who came along on the night to support us and those many friends and family who to donated to help us raise so much money.

"I must offer special gratitude to Kevin and members of the South Ockendon Social Club for offering their hall free of charge. Thank you to Paul for providing the entertaining and running the racing.

"We finished the evening with the Piggy Race and everyone went home happy and smiling.

"Our Thurrock Re-engage charity is very precious to us all and we have had the most wonderful boost to our funds enabling us to reduce isolation and loneliness with our Thurrock elderly residents. Take care and thank you all again."
