An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called just after 5.40pm on Thursday 29 May to reports that a child had sustained injuries after falling from a bike on Daisy Field on Feenan Highway in Tilbury.

"An ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle, rapid response vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

"The boy was airlifted to The Royal London Hospital for further treatment."

Firefighters attended the scene to assist with the child's recovery, while police managed traffic and onlookers drawn to the park by the helicopter and ambulance arrivals.
