Child in collision with bike on Chadwell open space
AN incident has taken place on open land near Aluric Close in Chadwell St Mary this afternoon that has left a 10-year-old boy with potentially life changing injuries.
Police are calling for information and witnesses.
Emergency services including the air ambulance were deployed.
Officers investigating a serious collision in Grays are asking for witnesses and footage.
A statement from police says: "We were called at around 3.30pm on Thursday 27 July following reports of a serious collision on open land at the rear of Aluric Close and Camden Close, Chadwell St Marys.
"The boy was in collision with what police believe at this stage to be a motorcycle which then left the scene.
"The boy has been taken to hospital with a leg injury where his condition is described as life-changing.
"We'd ask anyone who was in the area today and saw what happened to contact us.
"We'd also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage that may have captured something that will help our investigation to check their footage.
"If you know the rider or owner of the vehicle involved, please call us urgently.
